Kaitlyn & Nicholas
A question, a joyful yes, and the beginning of a new adventure together.

Nicholas proposed to Kaitlyn on a Barcelona rooftop overlooking the world-famous Sagrada Família, during a European adventure that was secretly their engagement trip. Designed by renowned architect Antoni Gaudí, the breathtaking basilica has been under construction for more than 140 years and is still unfinished. Nicholas had visited it on an earlier trip to Europe and, before he had even met Kaitlyn, had already imagined it as an unforgettable place to propose.
When Nicholas was ready to ask Kaitlyn to marry him, Sagrada Família was the only place he had in mind. He found a way to add Barcelona to their itinerary, secretly rented a rooftop with a direct view of the basilica, and hired a videographer and photographers to capture the moment.
On the day of the proposal, Nicholas scheduled a tour of Sagrada Família for 90 minutes beforehand so Kaitlyn could experience the masterpiece up close. After the tour, he led her to an apartment building, blindfolded her, and brought her up to the rooftop. You can see what happened next in the video.
Nicholas proposed with a fully custom ring that he spent months designing with a jeweler just for Kaitlyn. It holds details that are meaningful to them both; you can discover the story behind those features in the ring experience below.

A trip to remember
We planned a trip of a lifetime together, and Nicholas secretly planned for it to change our lives forever. The itinerary followed Kaitlyn’s European bucket list and kept us on the move: 10 countries, a nine-night cruise, a six-day tour of Ireland, and time to explore Lisbon, Barcelona, Venice, and London. It became an unforgettable adventure—and an engagement trip we’ll always treasure.
Nicholas proposed on the fourth day, so most of the journey was still ahead of us. We had plenty of time to celebrate being newly engaged and for Kaitlyn to show off her ring everywhere we went. Watch the video below for a glimpse of our trip.
